A 3-day/2-night Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour is covers the best highlights of the south of Morocco traversing the High Atlas Mountains, the ancient Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou is a historic, UNESCO-listed fortified village (ksar) The road of thousand Kasbah , Todgha canyon carved by the Todgha River. Famous for its 300-400 meter high, narrow, orange cliffs, it is a premier destination for hiking, rock climbing to reach Erg Chebbi dunes where you will have the best experience riding camels and enjoying the view of the dunes and overnight stays in desert camp.
Day 1 – Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Benhaddou – Skoura – Dades Valley
Your private 3 days Marrakech to Merzouga desert 3 Days start from your accommodation in Marrakech heading south to the Sahara Desert through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 meters). Beautiful “Berber” Villages built in adobe & stones can be seen from afar on the very edge of the mountains offering ideal opportunities for nice shots. You may include a short break by the woman Argan Cooperative to learn about the traditional methods used to extract oil from Argan seeds.
Explore the majestic Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou (UNESCO World Heritage Site) with its numerous Kasbahs (fortresses) built to provide shelter. After lunch, you’ll continue on the track Driving through the road of thousand Kasbahs and the Valley of Roses before reaching our final destination for today in Dades Valley.
- Overnight accommodation in Babylon, Riad Gabsi, or similar – Dinner and breakfast are included.
Day 2 – Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga
After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad, you’ll continue on the track further south with a visit to the gorges Todra Gorge (canyons). You’ll have a nice walk to enjoy the views and appreciate the warmth of the locals. Get onto the road once again with a drive through Erfoud the fossil city before getting to the dunes of Erg Chebbi standing like an ocean. Have a camel ride to attend the miraculous view of the sunset, have a nice dinner, and spend the night in the desert camp in your private tent or under the stars.
- Overnight accommodation in a deluxe desert camp – dinner and breakfast are included.
Day 3 – Merzouga – Alnif – Nkob – Marrakech
Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the best view of the sunrise atop the sand dunes. and after your breakfast we will have a long drive heading back to Marrakech through the palm oases of Draa Valley and Ouarzazate. Arrive in Marrakech in the evening & we’ll make sure to drop you off at your hotel/Riad.
